Getting Sick/ Tendonitis

So I feel like im coming down with a cold or the flu, which sucks. Going to set me back a week or two and Im not too thrilled about that. I also think I have tendonitis in my left forearm which I bought a forearm strap for. I have found other exercises to keep pressure off of it.

With that said, I hit a benchmark yesterday while working out with my brother. He was doing chest and I was spotting him, I usually never have a spot when I do chest so I have using lower weights when BB benching. I figured I would give 45lb plates a try (135lbs total). I never benched until two months ago so I was lagging behind and without a spotter I was hesitant about trying heavier weights. To my surprise I was able to push 10 reps with no help. Got 7 unassisted the 2nd set, but since I wasnt doing chest that day I left it at that. It felt good to know I can finally do 45lbs plates.

Counting Calories/ Proteinz

I downloaded this free iPhone application that lets me count calories and my protein intake. I didnt realize that on my normal diet, I was nowhere close to eating as much as I need to. Imagine if I found this 2 months ago when I started lifting heavy, gains would have been much bigger and quicker. I kind of feel like I wasted most of my creatine supplement by not eating properly. Off to make a protein shake haha.

The Vitamin Shoppe

Today I went to the Vitamin Shoppe to pick up a 2lb container of the Gold Standard 100% Whey and this was the first time I have been in the shop in a really long time. I had already picked out the Whey and was browsing other supplements. The woman working there seemed very informative, although I already did my research on what I was getting and in the future. I saw dat der cell tech and asked what she thought about it. I picked up the biggest container they had for around $60-70, I forgot the price, she just laughed a little and said no comment. She knew that I knew it was a waste of money so that was pretty funny. I wonder if she miscs????

They also gave me a free rewards card, a little summary on that is basically from when you sign up, durign a one year period, depending on how much you spend, you get money back when the next cycle starts. So if I am buying proteins, creatine, supplements, and anything else from the shop, I will get something in return next year. Not bad and it was free so what the hell. They also price matched the online price of $19.98 which was the same from bb.com's, so phuck yeahhhh. I've got my proteinz.

22 years of my life I never lifted

I saw a few friends from high school at the gym today, talked to them for a few minutes. They obviously said I looked good compared to back then. So then I thought about it, I went 22 freaking years without dedicating myself to fitness. Yeah within the last 2-3 years Ive have memberships to Planet and LA Fitness, but I had no motivation or dedication, so it didnt last very long. Motivation comes from the strangest places, in the beginning of the summer I realized I was the only one of my friends who was out of shape. That had to change, I didnt want to be seen shirtless around them. So there was my weight loss motivation. At the end of the summer I had abs, I was ecstatic. I took two months off from serious training to focus on school. Then when I found bodybuilding.com it took my motivation to a whole new level. I frequented Misc and saw the infatuation with Zyzz, so naturally I wanted to find out who this was.

There seemed to be a lot of people who loved him, but at the same time a lot of people who hate him for various reason. At first I was like damn, thats a sick body no homo. Followed a link to youtube and watched all of his videos, hes a funny bastard. Im 'mirin. Whether he juiced or not has nothing to do with the dedication it took from where he started to wheres hes at right now and I admire that. Thats where my motivation came from, Zyzz. Im not a nut-hugger by any means, but hes my primary source no homo.

Gold Standard 100% Optimum Whey

I am purchasing said protein tomorrow, store says they will honor online prices so no point in ordering it off bodybuilding.com if I can just drive and have it same day. I am considering Jack3D as my next supplement purchase, but I am going to hold off on that for now.

Follow Me on My Quest for Aesthetics

A little background on me, played sports throughout high school. Went to college, did not do a thing, gained bad weight. Checked in at 174 lbs at the beginning of Summer 2010. I was skinny fat and did not like it. I dedicated my Summer to weight loss and light lifting. In three months I lost 16 lbs and went into my last semester at college at 158 lbs. I stopped going to the gym to focus on my last semester and my internship, though I kept eating healthy and only managed to gain 4 lbs back (162). Once November hit and I knew I was going to pass all of my classes, I found motivation when I found bodybuilding.com and all of its members and progress pics. I hit the gym hard from there on out trying to put on some muscle. Up until January, I was not using any supplements, not even a multi. You could imagine how disappointed I was with not making much progress. For Christmas I asked my parents for a multi, protein, powder, and creatine. I got the multi and creatine, but the protein is something I still havent been using.

Everyone has their own thoughts about creatine and how it is only water weight blah blah blah. They can think what ever, I could care less, worry about yourself and not about me. u mad?

It has definitely helped alot to say the least. I can finally see gains where before I felt like I was getting stronger, but was not visually seeing it. The multi helped too haha.

The pictures I will be uploading will be from Summer 2010, September 2010, and January 2010. Some people say I should have made more progress, but I feel that I have only been lifting heavy with the goal of getting big since November, so its really only been two months.

Summer 2010 (starting point 174 lbs)

September 2010 (158 lbs)

January 2011 (166 lbs)

I wish I could have taken the pictures in the same place with the same lighting. But the first picture was in my old room, second picture was in a bathroom that in under construction at the moment. So of course the third picture is in the other bathroom.

I will be posting updates whenever I see fit. Thanks for following me on my quest for aesthetics.
